Applicants who are seeking for permanent skilled migration to countries and occupations that are not under Registered Training Organisations (RTO) but are approved by TRA or the Trades Recognition Australia should go for the Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) Program.
You should check the eligible skilled occupations list to understand all the occupations that can be assessed by a relevant authority.
You should then approach the relevant authority to get the evaluation done for the nominated occupation to get the skills assessment certificate. Each of the assessment authorities you see on the list has their procedures, processes, timeframes, and rates that they follow.
It’s crucial for you to identify the right assessment authority and approach them to assess and present you the skills assessment. You have to do this before you submit the Expression of Interest on the SkillSelect.
The Assessing bodies will consider you only if you have a qualification such as post-secondary education through a trade or university. It will help in getting you a positive skills assessment.
For smaller occupations, it’s necessary that you should have work experience that is relevant. The Assessing Authority will indicate you the eligibility requirements depending on the occupations that they assess.
At a given point in time, you can only submit a single nominated occupation through the Points Tested Skilled Migration application.
But before you submit for Expression of Interest (EOI), you can drop in any number of skills assessments. You can change the designated occupation only after you get an invitation from the SkillSelect to apply for a visa through Points Tested Skilled Migration.
Once you get the invitation to apply for the visa, you can submit your application along with the scanned copy of the skills assessment certificate from the assessing authority that is relevant to get the nominated skilled occupation.
