Social & Community Work

Social work is one of those professions that deal primarily with helping families, individuals, communities and groups to enhance and improve their individual and collective well-being. It focuses on helping students to develop the necessary skill set that is required to resolve the major problems in the world using their own as well as their community resources. Social work professionals deal with a variety of problems such as health and mental problems, as well as substance abuse and other similar issues.

Students take social work and community services courses along with an undergraduate or graduate program. Each of these programs provides students with the necessary social advocacy skills.

If you do the bachelor’s program, you might end up working in social work positions that are non-clinical. People who complete the master’s programs will help the students to get the necessary license to become a community or clinical social workers.

Consolidated Sponsored Occupations List and Skilled Occupations List are posting some of the jobs related to social work on their lists. You may qualify for migration or sponsorship if their occupation is on the list. Few of the jobs that are in high demand are Social Worker, Welfare Worker and Community Worker.
